How I Can Help
Hi, I’m Carlin - welcome.
Finding the right therapist is a critical first step in your healing process. You deserve to feel seen, heard, and free of judgment while doing the vulnerable work of self-exploration and change. As your therapist I will serve as a compassionate witness and guide, creating a safe space for you to explore the whole you - body, mind, and spirit. Therapy can help to relieve symptoms as well as lead to abundance, aliveness, and authentic self-expression.
My style of working with clients is influenced by my training in psychodynamic, somatic, and relational psychotherapies. My work is deeply informed by a social justice framework, which means that I think about where my client and I are located in our different identities and how that may impact us together in the room and separately out in the world.
I am experienced in helping people with the following:
-
Complex trauma (repeated distressing childhood experiences) and PTSD
-
Disordered eating
-
Body acceptance / body image
-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Life transitions
-
Grief and loss
-
Intimate partner violence

Relationship to Self & Others
I invite you to join me on an adventure to heal your relationship with yourself and with others. It takes courage to initiate therapy and step into the unknown.
As your therapist I will act as a guide to help you navigate new territories of change. A professor once told me that good therapy has a balance of safety and challenge. I will be there to help you feel safe while exploring your thoughts and feelings and will gently challenge you to confront your internal resistance to growth and change.
I am LGBTQ affirming and practice from a Health At Every Size (HAES) lens.
Moving Into Connection
Emotional distancing, intimacy issues, difficulty communicating, and conflict are common problems that couples face. As your therapist I will act as a compassionate witness and guide to help you navigate through problems and find deeper connection and satisfaction in your relationship.
I welcome couples of all genders and sexual expressions, including: LGBTQ, kinky, non-monogamous, polyamorous, and other alternative forms of relationships.
In my couples work I also see siblings, friends, and parent-child pairs who want to strengthen their relationships.

Schedule a Free Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to potential clients so that we can learn a little about each other and determine if we are a good fit. Feel free to ask me any questions about how I work, what to expect, my training and education, etc. I will ask you to tell me a little bit about what’s bringing you to therapy, what is most important for me to know about you, and what your goals are. If we decide to set up an appointment, I will also discuss and establish your fee with you.
